Description:4S-S (4S-16) Balalaika 4-string, traditional, Balalaiker
Balalaiker 4S is a special series of branded balalaikas with a doubled first string. This kind of balalaikas appeared in Russia in the 18th century and remained extremely popular for three centuries. The latest models of 4-string balalaikas disappeared from the factory price lists in the mid-1960s and were restored again at Balalaiker Manufactory after a 50-year hiatus.
The body of seven rivets is made according to historical technology. The fretboard has been specially treated to make it particularly resistant to dirt and abrasion. The extended 450mm scale adds convenience when playing. Warm and pleasant to the touch, the brass frets enrich the sound with a special velvet shade. The top is made from resonant spruce with excellent acoustic performance. The stand is based on a mid-20th century design.
